How to Measure for the Perfect Bra Fit

Finding the right bra size is essential for comfort, support, and confidence. Our Bra Size Calculator helps you determine your ideal size based on two simple measurements.

How to Take Accurate Measurements

  1. Wear a non-padded bra or no bra for the most accurate measurements.
  2. Measure your underbust by wrapping the measuring tape firmly around your ribcage, directly under your bust. Keep the tape parallel to the ground and breathe normally. Round to the nearest whole number.
  3. Measure your bust by wrapping the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust. The tape should be snug but not tight. Make sure it's parallel to the ground.
  4. Use our calculator to determine your bra size based on these measurements.

For the most accurate results, have someone help you take the measurements. Stand straight with your arms relaxed at your sides when being measured.

Understanding Your Bra Size

A bra size consists of two parts: the band size (the number) and the cup size (the letter). For example, in a 34B bra, "34" is the band size and "B" is the cup size.

Signs of a Poor Fitting Bra

  • The band rides up in the back: Your band size is too large.
  • Overflow at the top or sides of the cups: Your cup size is too small.
  • Wrinkling or gaping in the cups: Your cup size is too large.
  • Straps digging into your shoulders: You need more support from the band.
  • Center gore doesn't sit flat against your sternum: Your cup size may be too small.
  • Pain or discomfort: Something is definitely wrong with the fit.

Understanding Sister Sizes

Sister sizes are bra sizes with the same cup volume but different band sizes. If your calculated size doesn't feel comfortable, try a sister size:

  • For a looser band, go up one band size and down one cup size (e.g., from 34B to 36A).
  • For a tighter band, go down one band size and up one cup size (e.g., from 34B to 32C).

Remember that your bra size can vary between brands and styles. Use this calculator as a starting point and be willing to try different sizes to find your perfect fit.
